All You Need to Know About League of Legends

This is the article that is fully dedicated to the League of Legends and for the new players, it could be used as the full guide for everyone. Here I will tell about each basic mechanics of LoL. So let’s begin from the very beginning. Additional information about the Elo League in LoL you could find at the https://elo-boosters.com.

League of Legends: What is it?

LoL is the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) and its popularity reaches the insane heights. Five players (so-called summoners) are fighting against other Five players, using Champions as their in-game avatars. The battleground is called the Summoner’s Rift. Each player controls only one champion, the main task of a team – is to destroy the opposite Nexus. That is League of Legends in brief, but let me expand my explanations. You will read some interesting thoughts that will expand your understanding of the League of Legends.

League of Legends

Champions

Every player in League of Legends controls one champion from the more than 140 champions pool. New heroes are being added during the seasons, so I am sure that new champions would be added in the nearest time.

Every champion has its abilities and skills with the playstyles that differ from champion to champion. Only one champion could be picked by one team, but enemies could pick the same champion as well. So unlike Dota 2, in LoL, you could find the perfect mirrored matches.

If you are interested in the League, then you need to learn some more data about various strategies and team compositions. Since every champion plays differently you need to find your champion and role and stick to it with all your soul.

Win conditions

The main task of the League of Legends is to destroy the opponent’s base – Nexus, but that is not as easy as it looks like. Enemies would do everything to prevent you from completing such a task and minions and turrets will defend the approaches to the Nexus.

At the start of the game you could not run straight to the turrets – you will just die, so your long path must be started from the neutral lane (somewhere in the middle). Look at the League at the RPG game, where you need to promote your champion, get the right gear and only then going for the main quest – destroying the nexus. But it is much more interesting gameplay than any other RPG because you have a real enemy who would love to do the same with your base.

Summoner’s Rift

It is a standard map in the League of Legends, that is used in the most competitive games and E-Sport events. So you need to remember that map, you will spend here a lot of hours. I will not tell you about other maps, I prefer to focus on the Summoner’s Rift since you will play mostly on this map.

Summoner Rift

There are a few basic features that is highlighting the Summoner’s Rift from other maps:

  • Two teams of five players: Blue team with the base at the bottom left corner and the Red team with the base at the top right corner of the map.
  • Victory is achieved by destroying the enemy’s main building – Nexus. To get to it you need to destroy Tier 1 (almost at the Middle of the Map), Tier 2 (closer to the base), Tier 3 (near Inhibitors), Tier 4 Towers (near Nexus), that are protecting the Nexus.
  • Minions would spawn every 30 seconds and start to run on each lane to attack enemy minions and destroy buildings.
  • Three lanes that are known as Top Lane, Middle Lane, Bottom Lane.

Towers in Inhibitors

Towers and Inhibitors are the second most important map objectives in the League of Legends. First ones are designed to protect champions and building, while Inhibitor will give your team one additional strong minion, that would constantly push the lane. Super Minions are your greatest tool that will put pressure on enemies, giving you a lot of opportunities to attack.

The Inhibitors are the only building in the LoL that will respawn after a few minutes, but the Turrets (Towers) will never respawn. But this is not decreasing the value of taking the Inhibitor, it will open a lot of opportunities to you.
